In your own words
Share a survivor story.
You don’t need a perfectly written story. Share only what you’re comfortable having published anonymously. If you just want to write to me privately, use the regular email option above instead.
What you can share
I write about religious trauma, medical trauma, and many other experiences of surviving something painful.
- Religious trauma, spiritual abuse, or leaving a controlling community
- Medical trauma, being dismissed, or harmful healthcare experiences
- Domestic violence, sexual abuse, or controlling relationships
- Childhood trauma, neglect, or family abuse
- Other experiences of trauma and survival
These are examples, not limits. Your story doesn’t have to fit a category, and you don’t need to have everything figured out or be “finished healing” to share it.
When you’re ready
In your email, it helps to include:
- The name or pseudonym you’d like me to use when replying.
- Your story, or a short introduction to it—only what you feel comfortable sharing.
- Any details you’d like left out of the published story.
Before you submit
By submitting your story for Survivor Stories, you agree that it may be published anonymously on this website and/or narrated on the podcast. Your real name and other people’s names will be removed or replaced with pseudonyms. Your email address will not be published. Submission gives permission to publish; it does not guarantee that your story will be selected.
Sent to [email protected] with “Survivor Story Submission” as the subject. Your email address is visible to me when you write, but won’t be included in the published story.
