Stories people have trusted me to share

Survivor Stories.

When I asked people to share their stories, I didn’t know what would come back. People trusted me with experiences they’d carried for years. I’ve written about those stories here, and read some of them aloud for the podcast.

I’m grateful to everyone who let me share a part of their life. If something here feels familiar, I hope it helps to know someone else has been there, too.

"You have a truly inspiring way with words. I thank you for this... It helped me tremendously to get this all out."

"...to think that a brief synopsis of some of my history resulted in such profound understanding from you of me was nice. Made me cry several times… THANK YOU again."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you for your powerful writing about medical trauma. I write this as a survivor of VCUG, which caused severe trauma and has had profound and devastating impacts on my life... Please keep writing these stories."

Have something you want to share?

I welcome stories about religious trauma, medical trauma, domestic violence, childhood or family abuse, and other experiences of trauma and survival. Those are examples, not limits—you don’t have to fit a category or be finished healing to share your story.

You can contact me about your own experience, a story you read here, or a question you’ve been wanting to ask. You don’t have to tell everything to start a conversation.
