I’m so sick of being told to “move on.” I share things that should ignite righteous anger, and instead I’m met with pity. It’s disappointing. People want to believe bad things happen to bad people and good things happen to good people—that if we sit on our hands and wait, karma will sort it out. This is a lie people must tell themselves in order to sleep at night.
Here’s the truth: no one is coming to save you. Safety is an illusion. Wake up. You don’t want to face that the same system that failed me could one day fail you, so you shove it down and tell the ones screaming to shut up and be quiet.
Stop telling me to stop disturbing the still water just because the waves rock your boat. Your comfort is not more important than my truth. I will not inherit your silence. I will not surrender. I will fight until real changes are made that make YOUR world safer—for you and your children—and not because of anything you did to “deserve” it.
