You had no one.
Look around you. Who was there when you hit rock bottom? Nobody showed up. Nobody pulled you out of that dark place. Nobody stood over you making sure you didn’t quit when every part of you wanted to.
I know you kept waiting. I know you kept hoping one person would notice you were falling apart and say, “I’ve got you.”
But nobody came.
You were on your own.
You kept going when there was no reward for it. You did it dirty. You did it tired. You did it angry. You got out of bed when your body begged you not to. You went to work with your head screaming about all the ways you’re not enough. You did it with nothing but your own two hands and whatever stubborn piece of you refused to give up.
That was you. All you.
Do you know how much strength that takes?
Weak people don’t crawl out of the kind of dark you crawled out of and still have enough heart left to be kind.
So stop waiting for someone to come tell you who you are.
You already proved it. You already know.
And you’re still here.
