What would you do for love?
Would you learn about a world you never would have entered on your own simply because their eyes light up when they talk about it? Would you learn its language, remember the little details, and slowly find a place for yourself inside it because sharing that part of themselves with you makes them happy?
Would you keep your hand moving in the same slow, repetitive motion long after your arm had gone numb because their quiet sighs of contentment bring you peace too?
Would you spend time and effort you once reserved only for yourself, not because anyone demanded it from you, but because easing some of the weight they carry makes your own life feel more meaningful?
I think real love makes us less selfish. Not because we stop mattering or have to give up everything we are, but because someone else’s happiness begins to matter to us almost as much as our own.
The sacrifices don’t feel like debts we’re keeping track of. We don’t give while quietly waiting to be repaid. We do it because loving someone makes us want to make their life a little easier and a little happier wherever we can. And somewhere along the way, their happiness becomes part of ours.
So, what would you do for love?
